Services Offered

  • Individual Psychotherapy (Telehealth Only)

Individual counseling offers a personalized space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, helping you develop healthier coping strategies and achieve personal growth. It provides support for managing stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and life transitions, empowering you to lead a more fulfilling life.

Here’s how different therapeutic approaches can be helpful:

    Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT):
CBT focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. It helps you recognize distorted thinking and replace it with more realistic, positive thoughts, leading to improved emotional regulation and problem-solving skills.

    Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT):
ACT encourages mindfulness and acceptance of your thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them. It helps you commit to actions aligned with your values, promoting psychological flexibility and resilience in the face of life’s challenges.

    Psychodynamic Therapy:
This approach explores unconscious patterns and past experiences that influence present behavior. By gaining insight into unresolved conflicts and emotional wounds, you can understand yourself better and make meaningful changes.

    Solution-Focused Therapy:
Solution-Focused Therapy concentrates on your strengths and resources. It emphasizes setting clear goals and developing practical steps to overcome current challenges, fostering hope and motivation for change.

    Emotion-Focused Therapy:
Emotion-Focused Therapy helps you become aware of, accept, and transform your emotions. It enhances emotional intelligence and fosters deeper self-understanding, leading to healthier relationships and emotional wellbeing.

Individual counseling, tailored to your needs and preferences, can integrate these therapies to support your journey toward clarity, healing, and growth. At Anchors Aweigh Counseling PLLC, we are committed to guiding you every step of the way.

  • Interstate & International Home Studies

Interstate and international home studies are comprehensive assessments conducted to evaluate the suitability of prospective adoptive or foster families living outside the child’s current state or country. These home studies are mandated by law to ensure the safety, well-being, and best interests of children seeking permanency through adoption or placement with relatives.

At Anchors Aweigh Counseling PLLC, our licensed professionals provide thorough, culturally sensitive, and timely home studies that comply with both state and international regulations, including the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC) and The Hague Adoption Convention.

How this helps children and families achieve permanency:

Ensures Child Safety: We assess the home environment, family dynamics, and background checks to certify that the child will be placed in a secure and nurturing setting.

Supports Family Preparedness: By evaluating parenting capabilities and offering recommendations, we prepare families to meet the unique needs of their new child, promoting long-term stability.

Promotes Permanency Goals: Quick and accurate home studies reduce waiting times in the placement process, helping children move from uncertainty into loving, permanent homes as soon as possible.

Choosing Anchors Aweigh Counseling PLLC for your interstate or international home study means partnering with a team committed to supporting the well-being of children and families every step of the way, turning complex processes into clear pathways toward permanency.
